ABOUT ROTARY
Rotary Club of Frederick County, Virginia - where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, engage leaders, and make a positive impact in Frederick County, Virginia, and the world.
We Solve Problems
We identify community needs by finding under-served members of our local community. We work in partnership with several non-profit organizations (see above) to empower individuals to solve issues and collaborate to provide solutions with lasting positive results!
We are often referred to as a "small but mighty" Rotary Club and it's true! Here are a few reasons why:
For 7 years, our club has had an annual Firewood Blitz where we split, stack and deliver firewood to our neighbors in need. As of the end of 2021, club members have delivered 935 loads! The families in need are identified by CCap.
Our club partners each Thanksgiving with Healthy Families of the Northern Shenandoah Valley to provide full Thanksgiving meals to families that will benefit from the donation. This past Thanksgiving of 2021, our club of 28 members provided 22 baskets!
One time each quarter, we work with Jubilee Kitchen at the First Presbyterian Church in Winchester to prepare and serve a hot lunch to those needing a meal on a Saturday.
Our commitment to WATTS (Winchester Area Temporary Thermal Shelter) grows each year from providing meals to providing new cots and blankets at the beginning of the global pandemic.
Frederick County applied and received a Rotary District Grant which we used to completely replace the commercial kitchen cabinets at the Winchester Rescue Mission. This kitchen produces 30,000+ meals each year and our club handled demolition, installation and clean up!
